Overview
Bloomsbury is an independent, worldwide publishing house of fiction and non-fiction, featuring authors who have won the Nobel, Pulitzer, and Booker Prizes. With its fast-growing publishing business, Bloomsbury partnered with Photon to develop a cost-effective, content-driven, and self-serve digital publishing platform to deliver digital content at scale.
the opportunities
Bloomsbury had the ambition to launch new content-driven products faster and more aggressively than ever before.
Bloomsbury wanted to build a robust, self-serve platform to realize its vision of publishing digital content at scale.
The solution
Platform
The platform is highly scalable, requires less technical support, and can be managed with ease on the client's side.

Content
The SSP supports XML and PDF uploads and renders various types of content, such as encyclopedias, monographs, drama, articles, screenplays, and audio/video.

Site building
Websites are created using multiple components, such as image carousels, paragraphs, audio, video, maps, and timelines. Each website gets a customized theme and can be previewed before publishing.

User access
Identity management allows users to register and access digitized content quickly and easily.

Discovery
A simple search option helps users locate the right, hyper-personalized content recommendations, and a set of rules behind the maps feature displays the content associated with each geographical location.

Technical stack
Content Inputs
Supports XML and PDF uploads.
Third-Party Integrations
Integrates with third-party interfaces for authentication, analytics, and cloud storage, and with social media.
Results
Speed
Over the last three years, twelve digital products were launched through the SSP.

The number of content pieces available on the platform has increased to over 1M.
